Buy Fresh, Buy Local and Be Green: Pick Your Own!
Support local agriculture while making lifelong memories by picking your own fruit at
Dickie Bros. Orchard
No matter whether you call it Pick-Your-Own, UPick or PYO; picking your own fruit is an age-old idea with a fresh new approach. Very simply, we do the planting and growing and you do the picking.
It is as close as you can come to having your own orchard without the space, work and expense.
"Pick Your Own" is entertaining and fun. This entertaining outdoor activity can be enjoyed by the whole family. The fresh air and sunshine are great for your health, the walk through the pick-your-own area of the orchard is an adventure and we personally think the fruit always tastes better when you've just picked it.
What better family outing is there than coming to the farm, having a fun-filled experience and ending up with a refrigerator full of great tasting, healthy produce! "ReTweet"

A Growing Tradition
Apples ripen from the outside of the tree towards the center, so the apples on the outside of the tree will ripen first. Once an apple is picked, it stops ripening.
Picking apples directly from a tree is easy. Roll the apple upwards off the branch and give a little twist; don't pull straight away from the tree.
If two apples are joined together at the top, both will come away at the same time.
Don't shake the trees or branches.
The tree may become damaged and we need to protect our trees to ensure they remain healthy.
